About

Ronda Sundermeier is an American ultrarunner with deep roots in the 100-mile trail racing circuit of the American West, where she has logged one of the most extensive competitive records in the sport. With more than 120 finishes in the UltraRunning Magazine database spanning decades of racing, she has made the Western States 100-Mile Endurance Run a centrepiece of her career — accumulating enough multi-year experience that she was invited to sit on the 2014 Western States 100 Veterans' Panel alongside Karl Meltzer, Tom Green, Nick Clark, and Meghan Arbogast, hosted by Andy Jones-Wilkins. She has also previewed and started the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB), reflecting the global reach of her racing ambitions. In 2020, Sundermeier set a Fastest Known Time on the PCT section between Bridge of the Gods and Timberline Lodge in Oregon, covering the out-and-back route in 1 day, 4 hours, and 5 minutes. Her longevity, breadth of racing, and landmark panel presence make her one of the quietly essential figures in American women's ultrarunning.
