About

Ryan Sullivan is an American ultrarunner and primary care physician based in Grand Junction, Colorado, where he moved in 2018 for medical residency at St. Mary's and stayed on to build his training around the trails of Colorado National Monument. Running 80-100 miles a week — including more than 1,000 lifetime miles on Monument climbs like Corkscrew and Liberty Cap, plus summer altitude blocks near Ouray — he broke through in 2024 with 2nd place at the JFK 50 Mile (the 6th-fastest time in the race's history) and a win and course record at the Quebec Mega Trail 80K, then placed 3rd in his 100-mile debut at the Leadville Trail 100 Run in 17:21:39. He won the men's race at the 2026 High Lonesome 100 in 19:56:30. Sponsored by the Aravaipa Racing Team and a member of the Mesa Monument Striders, Sullivan trains and races largely off social media, leaning on local running-community camaraderie rather than online sponsorship-building.
