About
Scott Jaime, known as 'Fast Eddy' within the Hardrock 100 community, is an American ultrarunner from Colorado whose running identity is inseparable from the San Juan Mountains. He ran his first marathon at age eleven, then survived a severe leg fracture in an avalanche in the early 1990s — recovering in time to serve as a pharmacist with the National Guard during Desert Storm — before committing fully to ultra-distance mountain racing. His Hardrock 100 journey began in 2005 (33:18, only his second 100-miler) and progressed steadily through multiple finishes, culminating in a career-best 26:38 and third place overall at the 2013 edition. That same year he set a Fastest Known Time on the 486-mile Colorado Trail, departing from Junction Creek Trailhead in Durango and finishing in Waterton Canyon, Littleton, in 8 days, 7 hours, and 40 minutes — supported by wife Nicole, sons Jaxon and Myles, and a crew of friends. Admired for his self-deprecating style and deep reverence for the Hardrock course, its community, and its mountain culture, Jaime is one of ultrarunning's most beloved grassroots ambassadors regardless of finishing position.
