About
Stian Angermund is one of Norway's most decorated mountain runners, born 27 August 1986 outside Oslo, where he grew up before the mountains became his arena. He came to trail running after a biathlon youth career, entering his first mountain race at 15 in Bergen. His global breakthrough came at the 2016 Skyrunning World Championships where he took gold in both the Vertical Kilometer and SkyMarathon — Norway's first-ever Skyrunning World Championship titles. He won the Salomon Golden Trail World Series overall in 2018 and 2021, cementing his status as one of the world's most consistent mountain runners over multiple formats. He tested positive for a banned substance and forfeited his result at the 2023 UTMB OCC; he has since served his period of ineligibility and returned to competition.
