About
Thibault Marquet (born 1991) is a French ultra-trail runner from Saint-Malo, Brittany, who relocated to the Beaufortain massif in Savoie in 2014 after a competitive off-road cycling career — he was French university cross-country mountain bike champion in 2011. His transition to trail running proved inspired: training in high-altitude alpine terrain year-round, he developed into one of France's finest long-mountain runners. He won the Échappée Belle in 2021 — a 148 km point-to-point race through the Beaufortain and Vanoise ranges with over 11,000 m of elevation gain. His career breakthrough came at the 2024 UTMB, where he won the TDS (Traces des Ducs de Savoie) in 18:59:36, completing the 148 km course through the Italian, Swiss, and French Alps in a dominant solo performance. A Xbionic-sponsored athlete who also competes in ski alpinism, Marquet embodies the full alpine lifestyle of the Savoyard mountains.
