About
Thomas Saint Girons (born c.1973) is a French civil engineer and ultra-trail runner from the Aveyron region of southern France, whose high-level trail running career grew alongside a professional life in building construction. He spent 15 years as a competitive kayaker before discovering trail running around 2000, and his progression was swift: a fourth-place finish at the Grande Course des Templiers earned him a place on Team Asics Trail in 2007, and he went on to win Les Templiers — the Festival des Templiers Endurance Trail in Millau — in back-to-back editions in 2009 and 2010, cementing his place among France's finest ultra-trail athletes of the era. He also won the Euskal Trail 65km in 2009 and reached fifth place at the UTMB in 2010, his best result at the flagship event. Known for the systematic preparation of an engineer — studying elevation profiles in advance, marking demanding sections, and calculating precise hydration needs — he has served as ambassador for the Millau Espace Trail, a 270km dedicated trail running network in Aveyron. He is married to Fabienne; they have three children named Victoire, Céleste, and Lancelot.
