Vlad Shatrov is an Australian professional ultrarunner and running coach born on July 6, 1978, based in Newcastle, New South Wales, who grew up on his family's farm in the Snowy Mountains region. He overcame joint surgery on both ankles at age 10 and pursued triathlon and road racing before discovering trail ultras, then announced himself on the international stage with a stunning debut at the 100-mile distance: he won the Tarawera Ultramarathon 100 Miler in New Zealand in 2020 in a course-record 15:53:30, smashing the previous mark by over 25 minutes in his first-ever 100-mile race. A Salomon and Suunto pro athlete, Shatrov is also the founder and head coach of Runlab, a leading Australian performance coaching company.
