Wes Plate is a Washington-state ultrarunner, content creator, and race director from Marysville who left a career editing TV commercials — and later working on Apple's Final Cut Pro — to document his ultrarunning life on YouTube, a channel that became a significant educational resource for aspiring ultra runners. He began running in 2012, completed his first 50k in 2015 and first 100-miler a year later, going on to finish five editions of the Cocodona 250 and compete at the Arizona Monster 300. In 2023 he founded the Copper Kings 100 in Butte, Montana — honouring his family's deep mining-era roots in the city — and sold out its inaugural field entirely through his YouTube audience.
