Zach Bitter is an American ultramarathon runner, coach, and podcast host born around 1986 who grew up in Wisconsin. A four-time U.S. 100-mile national champion, he is best known for setting the 100-mile track world record of 11:19:13 at the Six Days in the Dome event in Milwaukee in August 2019, averaging a pace faster than running back-to-back sub-3-hour marathons for 100 consecutive miles. He has also set world records for the 12-hour run on track and for 100 miles on a treadmill, and is a leading advocate of fat-adapted, low-carbohydrate athletic performance. He lives and coaches in Phoenix, Arizona, and hosts the Human Performance Outliers podcast.
