About
Adam Merry is an American professional trail and ultrarunner, coach, and diversity advocate based in Golden, Colorado, originally from Monterey, California. Of mixed Black and white heritage, Merry has placed increasing representation of Black, Indigenous, and people of color in ultrarunning at the core of his public mission — a cause he advances through his coaching company Run Merry and through his competitive platform. He began trail running in 2017 and quickly reached the elite level, winning the Run the Rock 50-miler in Oregon (course record), placing 1st at Quad Rock 25 miles in 2025, and 2nd at The Canyons Endurance Runs 100k in 2023. Coached by David Roche and sponsored by First Endurance, he lives in Golden with his wife Julianne and son Arthur, and is regarded as one of the sport's most thoughtful voices on community and belonging.
