About

Amy Campbell (also known as Amy Howse) is a New Zealand ultra-distance runner born in 1982 and based in Auckland who has represented her country at the elite level in ultra-distance racing. She competed for New Zealand at the 2012 IAU 24-Hour World Championship in Katowice, Poland, covering 186.208 km to earn one of the most significant international results by a New Zealand 24-hour athlete of her era. A versatile competitor across road and trail, she completed the Badwater Ultramarathon (135 miles, 2013), the Tarawera 100km Ultramarathon, the Kepler Challenge Mountain Run, and multiple editions of the Taranaki Around the Mountain 100 Mile Run across a career spanning 2008 to 2022. Her personal bests — 10:03:04 for 100km and 20:08:33 for 100 miles — reflect consistent, high-level ultra distance performance for more than a decade in a country where trail and ultra infrastructure was limited by global standards.
