About

Anatoli Kruglikov is a Russian ultrarunner who was among the dominant road and multi-day competitors of the late 1990s and 2000s. He won the Badwater Ultramarathon across Death Valley in 1999 and again in 2000, the latter in 25:09:05 — breaking the previous world-best by more than two and a half hours and climbing the final 13-mile leg to the Mt. Whitney Portal in 2:51, the only runner ever to break three hours on that stretch. In 1994 he beat the legendary Yiannis Kouros by 37km at the brutal Telecom Tasmania 650km race, and he also won an IAU 24-hour world title with 268.06km. He remained competitive deep into masters age, setting a men's 65-69 six-day world age-group record of 740.166km.
