About
The world's toughest foot race. 135 miles non-stop from Badwater Basin — the lowest point in North America at 280 feet below sea level — to Whitney Portal at 8,360 feet, through Death Valley in July. Temperatures routinely exceed 120°F (49°C) and the course climbs three mountain ranges for 14,600 feet of total ascent. Since 1987, Badwater has defined the outer edge of human endurance in a single stage.
