About
Line Caliskaner is a Norwegian ultrarunner from Lørenskog, a project manager by profession, whose journey into the sport began from a position of actively disliking running before she transformed into a competitor at the most extreme end of the distance spectrum. By 2023 she was winning multiple major 100-mile events in the UK: the Berlin Wall Race and the Thames Path 100 miles, where she finished 1st female and 8th overall at the Centurion edition. In July 2024 she became the women's winner of the Badwater 135 — the 135-mile desert ultramarathon from Death Valley to Mount Whitney in California, raced under conditions that saw temperatures reach 51°C before the gun fired — completing the course in 27 hours, 36 minutes and 27 seconds and finishing second overall. The win made her the first Norwegian woman ever to complete the Badwater 135 and its first Norwegian female champion. Norwegian running media described her as "Norges svar på David Goggins" (Norway's answer to David Goggins) for her relentless mental approach to conditions that defeat most athletes. She has become an inspirational figure in Scandinavian endurance running.
