About

Ashley Paulson is an American ultrarunner and former professional triathlete from St. George, Utah, whose career pivot to ultra-distance road running produced some of the most historically significant women's performances in the sport's history. A mother of four and iFIT coach who competed at the 2020 Olympic Marathon Trials (2:40:07 debut), she entered ultrarunning with the rigorous fitness base and pain tolerance developed across years in professional triathlon, a background that included a six-month suspension for an anti-doping rule violation in 2016. At Badwater 135 in 2022 she finished third overall and set a new women's course record of 24:09:34; in 2023 she shattered her own mark by winning Badwater 135 outright — male and female combined field — in 21:44:35, nearly two and a half hours faster than her previous best. In February 2026 she set the women's 100-mile world record of 12:19:34 at the Jackpot 100 Mile in Henderson, Nevada, cementing her place among the greatest road ultra runners of the modern era. Additional wins include the Bigfoot 200 Mile in 2025, the Zion 100 Mile in 2025, and the Across the Years 100 Mile in 2023.
