About
Andrew Kromar is an Australian ultra-trail runner regarded as one of the pioneering figures of the sport's early professional era in Australia. He won the inaugural-era The North Face 100 Australia in 2008, finishing in 10:22:00 to take 1st overall, and backed it up the same year with an outright win at the Cradle Mountain Run in Tasmania in 7:54:55. He returned to defend his North Face 100 title in 2009 but was forced to withdraw at the 54th kilometre after aggravating a pre-existing ankle injury while pushing the pace as defending champion. Kromar is frequently cited by commentators and younger Australian ultrarunners as a benchmark figure from the sport's formative domestic years.
