German ultra and desert-stage runner born May 26, 1962 in Berlin, later based in Ainring-Hammerau, Germany. Per DUV Ultra Marathon Statistics, she logged over 40 recorded ultra events between 1986 and 2007 totaling roughly 6,368 km, including repeated entries at the Swiss Alpine Marathon, Trans 333 Mauritanie, Jordan Desert Cup, and Deutschlandlauf. She was the women's winner of the Marathon des Sables in 1996 and completed the multi-stage Sahara race a total of 13 times, later serving as its official contact for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Personal bests include 4:30:03 for 50km and 9:31:07 for 100km, both set in 1996. After her ultrarunning career she transitioned to adaptive rowing, winning a silver medal in the mixed coxed four at the 2012 Summer Paralympics.
