About
Anne-Lise Rousset (later Rousset Séguret) is a French trail and ultra runner born on July 27, 1988 in Saint-Flour, Cantal, who trained as a veterinarian and built her elite athletic career around the guidance of her husband and coach Adrien Séguret. She entered competitive running through adventure racing during her veterinary studies before pivoting fully to trail and skyrunning, and announced herself on the international stage with a stunning victory at the CCC (99 km, 6,000 m elevation, Courmayeur to Chamonix) in 2014, capitalising on a refuelling error by then-favourite Caroline Chaverot to claim her first 100-kilometre title. She went on to represent France at the World Trail Running Championships, win the French Long Trail Championships in 2023, finish second at the prestigious Diagonale des Fous in 2022, place seventh at Hardrock 100 in 2023, and — in one of the sport's more remarkable personal feats — complete the GR20 in Corsica in 35:50:00 in June 2022, establishing a new women's fastest known time by more than five hours, just weeks after giving birth to her son. A Scott Running team athlete and former national team representative, she announced that 2025 would be her final year of elite competition, closing her career with a sixth-place finish at the Trail World Championships Long Trail in Canfranc.
