Barbara Elia (1944-2026) was an American ultrarunner from Modesto, California, with one of the longest resumes in West Coast ultra history. She raced the Western States Endurance Run across parts of three decades beginning in the late 1980s, with a career-best 14th-place finish in 1992 (27:06:40), and reached the podium at the Badwater Ultramarathon in 2001. She also finished 17th among women at the 2004 Javelina Jundred. Elia passed away in 2026 at age 82.
