Bill Menard

Bill Menard is an American ultrarunner from Sarasota, Florida, who worked as a car dealer and didn't take up distance running until his 30s, after jogging four miles home in dress shoes one night to help a friend who'd had too much to drink. He went on to complete 96 ultramarathons across the United States, Panama, Norway, Iceland, and France, and won the Hi-Tec Badwater ultramarathon across Death Valley. Unlike many elite ultrarunners who log heavy weekly mileage, Menard rarely trained more than 50 miles a week, instead building his endurance through frequent racing.
