About
Corinne Favre is a French professional ski instructor, competitive ski mountaineer, and one of the defining champions of the sport's skyrunning era. Born 15 December 1970, she won the Skyrunner World Series title twice, in 2005 and 2008, taking the 2005 crown after winning five of the six races on the calendar that season — including a first-attempt victory at the Pikes Peak Marathon in the United States. She was a five-time winner of the Trofeo Kima (1998, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2007), a four-time winner of the Sentiero 4 Luglio SkyMarathon (2002, 2003, 2007, 2008), twice won the Tour du Rutor, and claimed European skyrunning gold at the 2008 Zegama SkyRace, alongside a silver medal in the 2002 World Championship ski-mountaineering team race. In November 2008 she and an accompanying Sherpa survived a serious fall while descending Pumori in Nepal, returning to competition by January 2009.
