About
Corrine Malcolm is an American ultrarunner, running coach, sports physiologist, and writer who has built one of the most multidimensional careers in the sport. A former national-level biathlete who left Montana State University in Bozeman to train full-time with the Maine Winter Sports Center biathlon program, she qualified for the World Junior Championships, earned a European Championships podium, won the USA Junior biathlon title, and was named to the Senior National Team before pivoting to trail and ultrarunning. She won the 2016 USA 50 Mile Trail Championships in 8:18 — the second-fastest time in the event's history at that point — and finished 9th in only her second 100-mile race at the 2018 Western States 100, returning to the top-10 again in 2019. She holds a B.S. in Health and Human Performance and pursued graduate study in Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology. She is Editor-in-Chief at Freetrail.com, co-host of the Trail Society and The Trailhead podcasts, co-author of Training Essentials for Ultrarunning (2nd edition) and the UESCA Ultrarunning Coach Certification, and chair of the Pro Trail Runners Association anti-doping working group.
