About
Diana Finkel is an American ultrarunner from South Fork, Colorado and one of the most dominant women in the history of the Hardrock 100 Endurance Run — a race she won four consecutive times between 2008 and 2011, holding the women's course record of 27:18:24. Equally formidable across multiple high-altitude 100-mile courses, she captured first-place women's finishes at the Leadville Trail 100 and the Angeles Crest 100 Mile, and finished in the top ten at Western States 100. Her 2010 Hardrock stands as one of the sport's most dramatic performances: she led the race overall for more than 45 miles before fading to second overall, then spent time in hospital with serious kidney failure in the aftermath. Finkel represents the archetype of the high-altitude Colorado ultrarunner of the late-2000s era.
