About
Emily Hawgood is a Zimbabwean trail and ultrarunner who grew up on the farming plains outside Harare and moved to the United States to study, earning a degree in Exercise Science from the College of Idaho and a Master's in High Altitude Exercise Physiology from Western Colorado University. A professional athlete with adidas TERREX, she broke into the global elite in 2021 with a seventh-place finish at the Western States 100 and a tenth-place at UTMB Mont-Blanc, and has since built a consistent record of top-ten finishes at both events — including fourth at Western States 2024 and sixth at UTMB 2022. Also a certified strength and running coach, she represents one of a handful of African-born runners competing at the highest level of international trail ultra.
