About
Gemma Game is a British ultrarunner who has become one of the defining names in self-supported multi-stage desert racing, forging a remarkable record of consistency at the Marathon des Sables — the 250-kilometre, six-day, self-supported race across the Moroccan Sahara widely described as the toughest footrace on Earth. She entered endurance sport through a charity London Marathon place and made her debut at the MdS with a top-10 women's finish, then returned repeatedly to the Sahara to claim three women's podium finishes: 3rd in 2018, 3rd in 2019, and 3rd in 2024 — placing her among a very small number of women to stand on the MdS podium three separate times. She also competes at UTMB World Series trail events and holds a UTMB Index of 554, finishing 10th female at the Marathon des Sables Legendary in 2025. A natural communicator active on social media as @gems_miles, Game has helped bring the culture of multi-stage desert ultrarunning to a wider British audience.
