About
Ginny LaForme is an American ultrarunner and one of the sport's early pioneers, having taken part in informal 'fat ass' trail runs organized by Hardrock 100 co-founders Charlie Thorn and Blake Wood starting in 1994. She went on to finish the Hardrock 100 three times, including 3rd-place women's finishes in 1998 (47:37:06) and 2003 (43:22:36), and became the first woman to attempt Nolan's 14, the notoriously difficult unsupported linkup of fourteen Sawatch Range 14,000-foot peaks in Colorado. Before trail running she competed in weightlifting for four years, and she has worked as an Outward Bound counselor leading students in backcountry education.
