About
Jamie Donaldson is an American ultrarunner, middle school teacher, and cross-country coach from Littleton, Colorado, who was the most dominant woman at the Badwater 135 — the 135-mile race across Death Valley — in the late 2000s. A former Division I runner at Penn State (1992–1996) who scored in the Big Ten in the 10,000m, she first entered Badwater in 2007, finishing in over 41 hours. She returned in 2008 to win in 26:51:33, obliterating the women's course record, then won again in 2009 and 2010 — her third consecutive title setting a new women's course record of 25:53:07. Her three-peat at the world's most famous desert race remains one of the most dominant performances in the event's women's history. Alongside her Badwater titles she won the 2008 HURT Hawaii 100k, set the course record at the Umstead 100, and ran 113.4 miles to win the Cornbelt 24-Hour.
