About

Jordi "Toti" Bes i Ginesta is a Catalan mountain runner and ski mountaineer born October 12, 1975 in Girona whose athletic career bridges two elite disciplines across more than three decades. He began ski mountaineering in 1992 and joined the Spanish national team in 1995, becoming Spanish Champion in the individual ski mountaineering discipline in 1999 and 2001, and in team formats in 2002, 2003, and 2004 — with his sister Cristina also competing at national level. Transitioning to trail and mountain ultra running, Bes climbed rapidly through the European elite: he won the CCC by UTMB — the 101km route from Courmayeur to Chamonix — in 2013, one of the sport's most prestigious mid-distance races. He represented the Catalan Mountain Running national selection, winning the World Mountain Running Championship for Catalonia in 2010 and 2013. He also competed at the TDS (3rd, 2014), Ultra Pirineu, Transvulcania, and Matterhorn Ultraks, building a race résumé across Pyrenean, Dolomite, and Alpine terrain. Now in his 50s, Bes continues to race across Spanish and European mountain ultras, recording multiple top-3 performances through 2024-2026.
