About
Jordi Gamito Baus is a Spanish trail and mountain ultrarunner from Catalonia who has produced elite results on the world's biggest stages while working as a bricklayer — a combination that makes his competitive record all the more remarkable. Before trail running, he was a goalkeeper and then a devoted Muay Thai fighter, spending extended periods in Thailand where daily sessions stretched six or seven hours, a discipline that forged the engine and mental resilience that would later carry him to the podium at UTMB. At the 2018 UTMB — one of the most competitive men's fields the race had ever assembled — he finished third, the peak of a consistent UTMB record that also includes 10th in 2017, 12th in 2015, and 5th at TDS in 2016. Beyond the Alps, he made history at the Everest Trail Race in Nepal, becoming the first non-Nepali winner of the event in its eight-year history. He has competed in 73 documented ultramarathon events totalling more than 6,600 kilometres and holds a UTMB Index of 854. Based in the Pyrenees, he remains an active and celebrated fixture on the international mountain racing circuit, sharing his racing life with his community on Instagram as @jordi_gamito.
