About
Kat Drew is a Canadian trail runner, coach, and community builder born and raised on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, now based in North Vancouver. She began trail running in 2012 when a friend introduced her to the sport while she was working in Vancouver, and she co-founded the Fraser Street Run Club to create community through running. Within seven years she was competing at the front of North American ultra fields: in 2019 she placed third at Bandera 100K, won the Chuckanut 50K, and won Canyons 100K — earning a Golden Ticket to the Western States Endurance Run, where she finished 8th woman. She has represented Team Canada twice at the World Trail Championships, bringing international prestige to a career built on community values as much as competitive drive. A Boston Marathon qualifier who missed the qualifying standard by 35 seconds on her first attempt before returning to run it in 2013, Drew's journey from casual runner to national representative reflects the deliberate, values-led approach she brings to her coaching work. She has competed across 17 fifty-kilometre races, 2 fifty-milers, 3 hundred-kilometre races, and 4 hundred-milers. She now coaches as Kat Drew Coaching.
