Kelly Wolf is an American mountain ultra trail runner based in Telluride, Colorado, who emerged from competitive rock climbing to become one of the most exciting talents on the international trail scene in the late 2010s. Growing up in Phoenix, Arizona, she was still a student at Arizona State University when she began trail running in 2015 as a mental break from climbing — and less than a year later, at 21, won the Flagstaff 55K, breaking Hillary Allen's course record by 13 minutes. She turned professional almost immediately, winning or reaching the podium at Broken Arrow 52K, Speedgoat 50K, and UTMB CCC (100K) in 2017, Tarawera Ultra and Lavaredo Ultra Trail 120K in 2018, and UltraDolomites 80K and Madeira Island Ultra Trail 85K in 2022. Known as a passionate advocate for plant-based nutrition and athlete wellness, she is a La Sportiva and Ultimate Direction sponsored athlete and has coached gymnastics alongside her running career.
