About
Laurence Fricotteaux-Klein (now racing as Laurence Klein) is a French ultrarunner born in Grenoble who built one of the sport's most decorated careers spanning road ultras, trail, and multi-stage desert racing. She is a three-time winner of the Marathon des Sables, was crowned European 100km Champion and finished as 100km World Championship runner-up in 2007, and holds the French national record for the 100km distance. In 2010 she won the French national trail championship, and in 2011 she helped France win the team world trail championship title in Connemara, Ireland, alongside teammates Maud Gobert and Aurélia Truel. Remarkably durable into her fifties, she finished 2nd woman and 5th overall at the 2025 Marathon des Sables Jordan (120km) and now coaches the French national 100km team while offering personalized marathon and trail coaching.
