Lisa Borzani

About

Lisa Borzani was born on December 5, 1979, in Padova, Italy, and grew up following her father through marathon training sessions — an early introduction to endurance sport that never left her. After years working in banking she left city life entirely, relocating to La Magdeleine, a village in the Valtournenche valley at 1,600 metres, where she has made her home for more than a decade. Her signature race is the Tor des Géants — the 330km traverse of the Aosta Valley with 24,000m of elevation gain — which she won in back-to-back editions in 2016 and 2017, having previously finished second in both 2014 and 2015. She has represented Italy at the Trail World Championships five times (2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018), and her résumé includes the Orobie Ultra Trail (2015 and 2017), Gran Trail Courmayeur (2019), the Monterosa Walser Ultra Trail (2019), the Monterosa Est Himalayan Trail (2022), the Valmalenco Ultradistance Trail (2024), and the Ultra Trail Lago di Como 250km, which she won in 49 hours 34 minutes. A Ferrino-sponsored athlete, she runs TRAILored 4 You — a coaching school founded with her husband Paolo — and has done charity work with Operation Mato Grosso in Peru. One of Italy's most experienced and decorated ultra-trail competitors.
