Lynne Werner

Lynne Werner is an American ultrarunner affiliated with Club Northwest in the Pacific Northwest who took up running in 1982 as part of an effort to quit smoking. She grew into one of the region's most consistent long-distance competitors, running 101 miles at the Pac Rim One Day Run in 1997, placing 2nd woman at the 24-Hour National Championships at Olander Park in 1999, and taking 2nd place woman at the Badwater Ultramarathon in 2000. A longtime Boston Marathon qualifier, she has run Boston across parts of five different decades, including 1987, 1988, 1996, 2007, 2012, and 2023.
