Mark Hartell is an English fell runner best known for long-distance round challenges in the Lake District and Wales. In 1997 he set the Lakeland 24-hour peak-bagging record with 77 summits, a mark that stood until Kim Collison broke it in July 2020. In 1992 he set the Paddy Buckley Round record of 18 hours 10 minutes, a time matched by Chris Near in 2008 and only surpassed by Tim Higginbottom in 2009. As of 2024 he remained active in the sport, completing the Joss Naylor Lakeland Challenge in the M60 category.
