About
Martina Valmassoi is an Italian trail runner, ski mountaineering athlete, photographer, and content creator from the Dolomites who built one of the sport's most multifaceted careers before reaching its highest competitive tier. She joined Salomon's Italian trail team in 2012 and spent eight years as a community manager and ambassador for Salomon Running before transitioning to the international athlete programme in 2022 — immediately winning the TDS by UTMB (145km, 9,176m of elevation gain) in her very first season at that level. Beyond trail running, she holds the world record for most elevation gain in ski touring within 24 hours — 17,645 metres (57,890 vertical feet) — and has been a podium contender at the Pierra Menta, the iconic ski mountaineering race in the French Alps. She followed her TDS victory with wins at the Transvulcania Ultramarathon (2023) and the MIUT Madeira Island Ultra-Trail (2024), spanning three continents across three successive years of racing.
