About
Matthew Urbanski is an American ultrarunner, coach, and founder of Team Run Run — a coaching platform serving athletes from half-marathon through 100 miles — who brings both competitive credentials and three decades of personal experience across road, track, and ultra trails to his work. He began running at five years old alongside his father, competed at Division I level as a freshman at the Naval Academy before transferring to the University of Cincinnati, and reignited his competitive running in his late twenties near Portland, Oregon, where he set personal road records and discovered ultras almost accidentally in 2008 after hearing about the White River 50-miler. In the years that followed he built a résumé across the sport's most storied 100-milers: Western States 100, UTMB, Hardrock 100, and a 2020 victory at the Tarawera 100 in New Zealand. In October 2025, at age 45, he was the top American finisher at the IAU 24-Hour World Championships, covering 255.985 kilometres to finish 19th overall — one of the most significant results of his career. An experienced, community-oriented figure who has run more than 35 marathons across a career spanning three decades of competitive distance running.
