About
Michel Lanne is a French trail runner born on October 26, 1984 in Tarbes who built one of the finest ultrarunning résumés in France while simultaneously serving as a mountain rescue gendarme with the PGHM (Peloton de Gendarmerie de Haute Montagne). Based in Briançon and sponsored by Salomon, Lanne joined the brand's team in 2012 and quickly established himself as a specialist on the longest and most technical mountain ultras in Europe. He was vice world champion in skyrunning in 2014 and won the Maxi-Race (83 km) in 2019. He retired from competitive racing at the age of 36 after a decade at the summit of French trail running and continues to work as a mountain guide based in the Alps.
