About

Nickademus Hollon — now known as Nick de la Rosa following his marriage to Jade — is an American ultrarunner from San Diego, California who became one of the most precocious talents in the extreme endurance world. Born around 1990, he became the youngest finisher of the Badwater 135-mile ultramarathon in 2009 at age 19, completing the 135-mile race from the floor of Death Valley to the Whitney Portal on Mount Whitney in California's brutal midsummer heat. He went on to compete in the Western States 100 (21:40 in his early career), the Arrowhead 135 in Minnesota, and made multiple attempts at the Barkley Marathons before becoming the 13th-ever finisher in 2013, crossing the line in 57 hours 39 minutes 34 seconds. He placed second at the Tour of Giants in Italy in 2014, becoming the first American ever to finish in the top three at the race (76:29). He won the Orcas Island 100 Mile in 2017. His achievements made him the youngest person to have completed both Badwater and Barkley.
