Five unmarked loops through the undergrowth of Frozen Head State Park in Tennessee, guided only by a hand-drawn map and pages torn from hidden books. The race has a 60-hour cutoff and most years nobody finishes — in 2024, only three runners completed all five loops. It is the most infamous and impenetrable ultramarathon on earth.
