About
Petter Engdahl is a Swedish trail runner based in Romsdalen in western Norway, a former professional cross-country skier who studied industrial design at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim and has since become one of Scandinavia’s most exceptional endurance athletes. He represents Adidas TERREX and has collaborated closely with their designers to develop trail running products. In 2022 he announced himself as a world-class trail talent by winning CCC-UTMB in a course record of 9:53:00 — the first athlete ever to complete the 101km, 6,200m race from Courmayeur to Chamonix in under 10 hours — and that same year won Transvulcania Ultramarathon and placed second in the Skyrunner World Series behind Kilian Jornet. He ran his first 100-miler at UTMB 2023, won the Eiger Ultra Trail E51 in 2023, and in 2025 won the 35km race at Puglia by UTMB. In April 2026 he made a remarkable road marathon debut at the Boston Marathon, running 2:23 — a testament to the aerobic engine built through years of cross-country skiing and ultra trail racing. A Scandinavian athlete whose former professional skiing career gives him an extraordinary VO2 max baseline, Engdahl is one of the sport’s most compelling crossover talents.
