About

Marianne Hogan (born 24 June 1990) is a Canadian trail and ultrarunner from Montreal, Quebec, whose remarkable consistency at the sport's two most prestigious 100-mile races has established her as one of the generation's elite mountain ultrarunners. She competed for Triathlon Canada on the Junior National Team from ages 16 to 19, representing Canada at multiple Junior World Championships, before pivoting fully to trail running. In 2022 she won Bandera 100K to earn a Golden Ticket to Western States, then delivered a remarkable double: 3rd at Western States 100 and 2nd at UTMB Mont-Blanc, becoming the first natural-born Canadian woman on the UTMB women's podium. After an injury-disrupted 2023, she returned to form with a 3rd at UTMB Mont-Blanc 2024 (23:11:15) — running the final stages despite a serious fall at Grand Col Ferret — before placing 3rd at Western States 100 in both 2025 (16:50:58) and 2026 (15:51:44). Her three consecutive Western States podiums and two UTMB podiums are among the most consistent records in the sport. A Salomon athlete based in the Canadian Rockies, Hogan continues to prove herself as one of the most durable and versatile mountain ultrarunners of her era.
